About Sewa Bharti

Sewa Bharti is one of the largest NGOs working for the upliftment & empowerment of the neglected and under-privileged sections of the society since it’s inception in 1979 at Delhi. The volunteers of Sewa Bharati today are involved in running nearly 50, 000 service projects in remote areas of the country. Sewa Bharati, nationwide, is running 13,786 projects in education, 10,908 in health care, 17,560 in social welfare and 7,452 in self-reliance. The efforts thoughtfully aim at 4 crucial dimensions of all-around sustainable development of society: Shiksha (Education), Swasthaya (Health), Sanskar (Values) & Samarasata (Harmony). The projects range from medical assistance, crèche, library, hostels for students from various parts of the country (including children affected by terrorism in Kashmir), basic education, adult education, vocational and industrial training, upliftment of street children and leprosy patients. Volunteers of Sewa Bharati have been the first to reach many natural calamities, be it floods, accidents or other natural calamities such as earthquake or tsunami. Sewa Bharti Delhi Chapter, who is spearheading the sustainable social development projects in Delhi, served more than 2,00,000 beneficiaries through it’s 1962 projects.  

Major Activities

The volunteers of Seva Bharati today are involved in more than one lakh service projects in remote areas of the country.]Volunteers have been the first to reach many natural calamities, be it floods, accidents or other natural calamities such as earthquake or tsunami. Seva Bharati is reported to have 13,786 projects in education, 10,908 in health care, 17,560 in social welfare and 7,452 self-reliance projects.These projects, serving the economically weaker and socially neglected sections of the society range from medical assistance, crèche, library, hostel, basic education, adult education, vocational and industrial training, upliftment of street children and the lepers.Through these projects Seva Bharti aims at making the underprivileged sections of the society self-reliant in all aspects of their lives.
